Addressing Emails

When you start typing name or email address in the recipient field (To, Cc, Bcc), Mimestream shows you a list of autocomplete suggestions from different sections, like Recently Addressed, Apple Contacts, Google Contacts, Google Other Contacts, Google Contacts Group, Found in Email.

Contacts are de-duplicated across the different sources, so you won’t be shown duplicates if you have both the same contact in both Apple Contacts and Google Contacts. When there are differences, the Apple Contacts data is preferred.

đź’ˇ We recommend enabling Google Contacts, even if you primarily use Apple Contacts.

Disabling Apple Contacts suggestions

If you want to disable the Apple Contacts integration in Mimestream:

  1. Go to System Settings, then select Privacy & Security in the sidebar
  2. Select Contacts, and disable Mimestream

Disabling Google Contacts suggestions

If you want to disable the Google Contacts integration in Mimestream:

  1. Select Mimestream from the top main menu
  2. Click on Settings… (or Preferences… on macOS 12), and choose the Accounts tab.
  3. Select the account in the sidebar, and disable Google Contacts

Note: The “Recently Addressed” section relies on your locally-cached Sent email history and your Google “Other Contacts” (if Google Contacts are connected).
