Can I try the app for free?
Sure! We have a fully functional 14-day free trial that doesn't require a credit card.
After the trial period ends, you will have to purchase a subscription to continue using the app.
Is there a one-time purchase option?
No, a subscription license is the only purchase option available for Mimestream.
We very thoroughly considered various licensing models. Please see our article about the advantages of subscription licensing to better understand why we concluded a subscription is the best model for the product and our customers.
Can I buy on the App Store?
No – we have decided to initially focus on direct sales only. This enables us to price the app more affordably for our customers, and directly provide billing support to our customers. In addition, we offer group subscription licenses for teams and companies, which wouldn't be possible via the App Store's subscription infrastructure.
The directly-distributed version is still sandboxed, undergoes the Apple notarization process, and is signed with our Apple Developer ID.
In the future, if/when we release an iOS app, we will make the apps available on the App Store at that time. However, some functionality on macOS will be limited, and the pricing might be higher if purchased through the App Store.
Can I share my license with my family?
Yes, you may share your license with your immediate family members, which we define as partners, children, and parents living in the same household. However, the 5-device limitation will still apply to your license.
To activate your license on a family member's device, open the Activation window (from the Mimestream menu), click Restore Purchases, type in your email address into the "Other" field, and manually enter the activation code received.
This does not share access to your email account, but may allow the family member to access our licensing portal and manage your license's billing settings and active devices.
How do I cancel my subscription?
When you subscribe, your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel it in advance. We'll send you an email reminder 7 days before automatically renewing.
To cancel your subscription, visit the licensing portal, click on the Billing tab, and click the Cancel link on your plan. You'll retain access to the app for the remainder of the subscription period you already paid for.
Do you send a reminder email before renewing?
We send a renewal reminder email 30 days before automatically renewing an annual subscription. If you don't want your subscription to automatically renew, you can cancel via our licensing portal. We don't send reminder emails for monthly subscriptions, as it would be too frequent. Renewal charges are accompanied by an email invoice from our reseller, Paddle.
If you have previously canceled your subscription, we also send a reminder email that your subscription will expire. If you are actively using the app and wish to continue your subscription, you can click "Resume" on the Billing tab on our licensing portal.
What is your refund policy?
Mimestream offers an in-app 14-day free trial without requiring any billing information at all. We encourage potential customers to use this evaluation period to determine if the app suits their needs before subscribing.
For annual plans, we offer full refunds within 30 days of purchase or renewal. Please contact us with your request and we will process it promptly.
For monthly plans, we do not offer refunds, but you can cancel your subscription at any time on our licensing portal.
We stand by the quality of our app and want all customers to be fully satisfied. If something is wrong, or the app isn't meeting your expectations, please reach out to support@mimestream.com and we will try to solve your problem or make things right.
What happens after my subscription expires?
An active subscription license is required to use Mimestream. If your subscription expires and you don't renew it, the app will de-activate after your expiration date.
