Text Corruption on macOS 15
When typing in the compose window on macOS 15 with macOS Inline Predictive Text enabled, the cursor (or the insertion point) occasionally jumps back, causing text to be rewritten and jumbled. We’ve identified this as a regression in the WebKit framework, and have reported the issue to Apple. To aid prioritization of a fix, we would recommend that you also report the bug to Apple.
How can I also report this issue to Apple?
Open Apple’s Feedback Assistant app and select the following options:
- Topic: Developer Technologies & SDKs
- Title: Text corruption when editing in WKWebView on macOS 15
- Platform: macOS
- Technology: WebKit
- Attachments: Screenshot/ Screen recording (optional)
We have already reported this issue to Apple with technical details and a reproducible case (Feedback ID: FB15376366), so you can also reference this Feedback ID in the description along with other details for their reference.
Recommended workaround
For now, this issue can be worked around by disabling Inline Predictive Text in macOS settings:
- Click this link to open the “Input Sources” settings pane in System Settings
- Disable
Show inline predictive text
This will disable inline predictions, but will also prevent the text corruption issue from happening.
