Text Corruption on macOS 15

When typing in the compose window on macOS 15 with macOS Inline Predictive Text enabled, the cursor (or the insertion point) occasionally jumps back, causing text to be rewritten and jumbled. We’ve identified this as a regression in the WebKit framework.

We reported this issue to Apple with technical details and a reproducible case (Feedback ID: FB15376366).

Resolution

Great news! Apple has addressed this issue in macOS 15.2. We recommend updating your system to macOS 15.2 or a newer version to resolve this issue.

Workaround

If you don’t want to update to macOS 15.2, this issue can be worked around by disabling Inline Predictive Text in macOS settings:

  1. Click this link to open the “Input Sources” settings pane in System Settings
  2. Disable Show inline predictive text

This will disable inline predictions, but will also prevent the text corruption issue from happening.
